Jonathan spoke to Hong Kong Computer Society conference
Jonathan Zhu was invited to give a keynote speech on Nov 21 at the 2012 Hong Kong International Computer Conference (HKICC 2012, http://www.hkcs.org.hk/hkicc/2012/). The conference is the annual flagship event of Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS), the largest association for IT professionals in the territory. In his speech, Prof. Zhu focused on the sustainability of social media, based on findings from ongoing studies on P2P file sharing, blogging, microblogging, and wiki posting carried out at Web Mining Lab. “While social media as a whole have a bright and viable future, specific genres (e.g., SNSs or microblogs) or individual websites (e.g., Facebook or Twitter) may rise and fall quickly and unpredictably,” he concluded.
