Zhijin Becomes Dean of Journalism & Communication School at SYSY

Dr Zhijin Zhong, an alumnus of the Lab, has been appointed as Dean of School of Journalism and Communication at Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou, China.

Zhijin obtained her PhD from the Lab in 2009, under the supervision of Jonathan Zhu. She was a Fulbright Visiting Student to University of California at Santa Barbara in 2008-2009. Prior to studying at CityU, she studied at Peking University, majoring in Information Science at both BA and MA levels. Since graduation from CityU in 2009, Zhijin has been with SYSU, was promoted to Professor in April 2018 and became an Associate Dean in July 2018.

Zhijin has received competitive research awards from International Communication Association (ICA), Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Communication (CAHJC), and elsewhere. She is the incoming president of Chinese Association of Computational Communication Association (CACCA).
