Ronald Rice Visited Web Mining Lab

On June 17, Professor Ronald E. Rice visited Web Mining Lab. Winson Peng introduced the current project of the lab to Professor Rice. Members of the lab and Professor Rice also had a pleasant exchange about research experience. After the visiting, Professor Rice gave a talk titled “Diffusion of innovations: Theoretical extensions” to the department. Professor Rice is the Arthur N. Rupe Chair in the Social Effects of Mass Communication in the Department of Communication, and Co-Director of the Carsey-Wolf Center at University of California, Santa Barbara. He has a broad research interest and Conducts research in the social effects of new media and telecommunications, communication networks, bibliometrics, public communication campaigns, organizational communication, and the diffusion of innovations.
