Qin Jie and Her Poster Got Attention at AEJMC

Qin Jie, a second-year PhD student of the lab, attended the 100th anniversary convention of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), held in Chicago, from 9 to 12, August 2012. Her research, Life is Elsewhere: the Use and Effects of the Homeland Social Media among International Students, was presented on the Refereed Paper Research (Scholar-to-Scholar/Poster) Session titled, “Revolutionary Perspectives: Studies on Social and Online Media” of the International Communication Division. Her well-designed poster stood out in the session. “It is the first time I attend a poster session. It is quite different from an oral presentation.” Said Qin Jie, “But I like the way, I mean scholar to scholar; you can meet the people who are really interested in your research.” How to make an effective poster? Check out the resources recommended by Qin Jie.
