The Lab co-organized URUGC 2014

Web Mining Lab joined the Center of Social Network Information Management and Services at Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications (BUPT) and China Association of Information Systems (CNAIS) to organize the International Workshop on Uncertainties Research on User Generated Contents (URUGC 2014), held on August 17 in Beijing. Prof. Jiayin Qi of BUPT, Prof. Qiang Ye of CNAIS, and Prof. Jonathan Zhu of the Lab, co-chaired the Workshop. Over 30 scholars from mainland China, Hong Kong, the U.S., and elsewhere attended the Workshop, with a keynote speech by Prof. Junjie Wu of Beihang University on his research on social media. Heng Lu and Jonathan Zhu also presented a paper on using single-source data to better understanding user behavior of social media.
