Dr. Qu of HKUST Visited WML

Dr. Huamin Qu from The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) visited Web Mining Lab on July 10 2013. He introduced the works he was doing and the trend of visualization study. Lab members also presented their works of the visualization projects. Future collaboration of visualization course development was discussed and both agreed on the need of persons with artistic and programming abilities. Dr. Qu is the associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at HKUST, who has published dozens of papers on visualization and computer graphics (http://www.huamin.org/). He is on the steering committee of the IEEE Pacific Visualization Conferences and has won several awards.
