New article on visualization of Twitter
Two members of the lab (Winson and Jonathan) will publish, along with collaborators from Microsoft Research Asia, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Shanghai Jiaotong University, an article entitled “Visual analysis of topic competition on social media” in IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics. In the study, they develop a mathematical model to describe the competitive agenda-setting on Twitter, based on Jonathan’s zero-sum theory (Zhu, 1992), and demonstrate the conceptual framework and empirical results through an interactive visualization system.
